Roofing in Cooper, TX

Cooper is the Delta County seat, northeast of Sulphur Springs. It is a small square town surrounded by open country, with Cooper Lake off to the side of the farmland. The houses people call about are usually right in town or on a place just outside it: older frame homes, brick houses, and a porch that has its own low roof. There is not a sea of new tract houses. Roofs here tend to be simple gables that have been in the weather for a long time, with a chimney, a couple of vents, and gutters that may or may not still slope toward the downspout.

Open ground changes the wind. A storm does not have to be famous to lift the edge of a roof in Delta County. Hail that rides a spring thunderstorm hits the whole slope, because there is less tree cover than in the piney towns farther south. After the hail, sun and wind keep working on any tab that cracked. On a house with a porch roof, water from the main roof sometimes dumps onto that lower roof and rots the spot where nobody looks until the porch ceiling stains. That detail shows up over and over on older Cooper houses, and it is a flashing and drainage question, not a reason to replace every shingle by default.

We install new roofs, tear-offs, overlays, and metal roofs for Cooper homeowners. A simple gable with one worn layer and a solid deck can sometimes take an overlay. We will check the layers and the wood before we say that. If the porch roof has been leaking into the ceiling, that section may need to come off even when the main field of shingles has some life left. Metal is a good fit on houses that sit in the open and take the full wind, including places out toward the lake.

Free estimates are part of the job, and every residential roof we install includes a 2-year warranty. Call or text 903-348-7733, or send the estimate form with the address and what you have noticed. We drive up from Sulphur Springs. Cooper is not the edge of where we will go. We travel and work anywhere, so if the house is in the country around Delta County or beyond it, call and tell us.
