Roof repair

A repair is the right job when the rest of the roof still has life in it. A cracked pipe boot, a lifted edge, flashing that pulled away from a chimney, or a few tabs missing after a limb fell are not automatically a new roof. We look at the deck around the damage. If the wood is solid and the rest of the surface is still holding water out, we fix that spot and say so. If the shingles are brittle across the whole slope, or water has been running under them long enough to soften the wood, a patch is only a delay. We will tell you that too, before any work starts.

Roofs in Northeast Texas and around Hochatown take hail, wind, shade, and a long humid summer. A repair that ignores the flashing usually fails at the next hard rain. On a house with a porch, water from the main roof sometimes dumps onto the lower roof and rots a spot nobody sees until the porch ceiling stains. That is a flashing and drainage problem, not a reason to replace every shingle on the house. Under trees, needles packed in a valley can hold water against the deck. Clearing the valley and replacing the soft wood is the repair. Painting the ceiling is not.

We repair shingle roofs and metal roofs on houses. Those are not the same fix. A loose metal panel, a fastener that has backed out, or an open ridge needs the right screw and the right closure, not a smear of mastic over the seam. We do not describe a repair as if the whole roof were new. The 2-year warranty covers the residential work we do. It does not turn a patched slope into a different roof, and we will not talk about it that way.

The free estimate is how the choice gets made. Call or text 903-348-7733, or use the form and describe the leak, the missing tabs, or the stain you can see inside. We are based in Sulphur Springs and we come to the house. That includes homes in Northeast Texas and cabins in Hochatown, OK, and we travel anywhere else. If you already know you want the whole roof replaced, say so. If you do not, call anyway. Looking at the roof does not cost anything, and the answer can be a repair.
