Metal roofing
A metal roof is a roof system, not a different color of shingle. The panels, the fasteners, the underlayment, and the trim at the eaves and the rakes have to be planned as one job. We install metal on houses, both as a new roof and after a tear-off. It is a practical choice on cabins and on houses that sit in full sun or under pines, because it sheds needles and does not hold water in a tired asphalt valley the way worn shingles can. It is not the automatic answer. If you have one sound layer of shingles on a solid deck, an overlay can still be the right spend, and we will say so.
Metal asks for a straight deck and careful flashing. A porch roof meeting the main roof, a chimney, or a wall is where leaks start if the panels are only lapped and hoped over. We flash those joints on purpose. Screws and seams are part of the roof, not a finish detail someone adds at the end of the day. Summer heat in Texas and Oklahoma is hard on any roof. We do not invent a savings figure or a count of years the panel will last. We install the roof, and every residential job includes a 2-year warranty.
Storms still matter after the metal is on. Hail can dent a panel, and wind can lift an edge that was not fastened the way it should have been. A dent is not the same thing as a hole, and we will tell you which one we are looking at. After a storm, writing down what is actually damaged is more useful than assuming the whole roof is done. If you are choosing between metal and a shingle replacement, that comparison belongs on the roof, not in a guess from the curb. Size, pitch, and how many cuts the roof has all change the work.
Pacheco Roofing is based in Sulphur Springs. We put metal roofs on homes in Northeast Texas and on cabins around Hochatown, Oklahoma, and we travel anywhere you need us. The estimate is free. Call or text 903-348-7733, or send the form and we will come look. The visit is a look at your roof. We price the work after we have seen it, not before.
